Below are some newsbits I located recently. Old, but (pardon the pun) newsworthy.

I did look in more recent news. Sadly, the illegal immigrants who went into the Arizona ranch were awarded the ranch in court - over the ownership of the legal American who owned it. Oh, he hit one of the illegals, apparently. Lucky break. Someone breaks into my house, I won't hit him, I'll shoot him.

So I looked for 2008 news regarding the border. And it's even worse than in 2006. And I have found where just this past August, of 2008, Mexican soldiers took an American Border Patrol officer into custody - ON AMERICAN SOIL! Although they crossed a barbed-wire fence and other border material, they claim they were lost and State Department and our 'border czar' W. Ralph Basham bought it. In fact, the Oct 14, 2008, Washington Post article titled "Mexican soldiers crossed clear line", they write: Mr. Basham, who oversees the Border Patrol, said that while most incursions into the United States by Mexican military or law enforcement authorities take place in remote areas where the international border is poorly marked, "that was not the case in this particular incident." But, there are no repercussions to the soldiers, the commanders (wasn't someone looking for these lost soldiers?), or to their government? The article continues,

He also described the tactics used against the agent, including the pointing of automatic rifles at him, as "unacceptable," adding that the incident had been "thoroughly documented by the Department of Homeland Security." He said the matter has since been sent to the State Department "with a request for diplomatic action."

At the time of the incident, the State Department described the incursion as a misunderstanding, saying the Mexican soldiers did not know where they were and needed to make certain that the detained agent was who he said he was. It was the same general statement the department had made in dozens of other suspected incursions by members of the Mexican military. (read: the State Department is doing what they always do to protect the citizens of America - NOTHING)

Excuse me? Did you see that, too? "In most incursions..."???? So this isn't an isolated case? Now anyone wonder why gun sales are up? The Mexicans are testing our borders... And the Obamination is wanting to make nice with their president. Ha! After a little more research, I found out that between Oct. 2007 and Oct. 2008, there were 42 reported incursions by uniformed Mexican soldiers and/or police. Reported. I'm feeling just a little uneasy about that.

Please don't misunderstand - I am not anti-Mexican, or anti-foreigner, anything like that. I AM pro-American, and believe our laws, including those of our sovereignty, should be enforced. That is all. Pretty simple, really.

Hi Jeff. Glad to do it. If you get a chance, check out Toadstrom.com. We'd appreciate your HONEST opinion and any help you might be willing to toss to us. We're a relatively new store and need some help getting traffic started. Thanks again, and have a great day.
